Description: Learn and discuss basic intellectual property issues every artist should know. The workshop will help you understand topics ranging from copyrights, trademarks and publicity rights to fair use of others’ materials and the best ways to protect your creative works. Open to artists of all types. Questions will be encouraged!

Speakers:
Lisa Kremer, partner, Gordon Thomas Honeywell, Tacoma. Lisa’s practice includes advising businesses, especially on issues involving trademarks, copyrights and privacy. Prior to law school, she worked as a reporter for The News Tribune in Tacoma. Among her community activities, Lisa serves on the Board of Trustees of the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts and is past president of the Pierce County chapter of Washington Women Lawyers.
Mark Warnick, senior corporate counsel, Amazon.com, Inc., Seattle. Mark’s practice focuses on trademark law and also includes copyright, domain and marketing issues. He is a former reporter for daily newspapers in Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and Chicago. Mark serves as vice-chair of Washington Lawyers for the Arts.
